It's now over fifteen years since I started this website. Originally intended as a reference source for the music used in "The Prisoner", it grew at an alarming rate and now contains so much information, even I can't remember what's in these pages without peeking inside. As one would expect of a television series made over forty years ago, interest in "The Prisoner" series is steadily declining apart from hard core fans and those interested in cult television generally. From my point of view, it's becoming difficult to generate the interest and time to add to the already enormous amount of information already here and so I've decided to let the website rest on it's laurels apart from occasionally updating this front page. Most of the factual content won't age, other bits of pieces will become outdated but I'm leaving them in place for people to read should they so wish, bearing in mind that some of the articles and features were written several years ago and things such as links, reference sources and prices may no longer be valid.
EMAIL: I no longer respond to email from here. For all enquiries about The Prisoner, please see the links on the various Six Of One websites or CLICK HERE to send an email to the main Six Of One contact point.
Six Of One The Prisoner Appreciation Society remains the official source on all matters related to "The Prisoner" and I unreservedly recommend their various websites which provide the latest news, information, publications and so on.

Patrick McGoohan passed away on the 13th January 2009. He died peacefully after a short illness, and was surrounded by his loved ones. He will be much missed by his many fans.
I met Patrick on two occasions, once very briefly when he appeared on a TV programme called "Greatest Hits" in 1977 and secondly in 1990 when I was doing freelance promotional work for Caterham Cars who were launching their Caterham Seven "Prisoner Special". Patrick agreed to help promote the venture and I spent two days with him in Birmingham at the Motor Show where he took delivery of the first vehicle himself. I had the opportunity to socialise with him and found him charming and interesting company and far from the overly recalcitrant character of his onscreen portrayals. |

The Six Of One magazine "CONTACT IMMINENT" replaced the previous "FREE FOR ALL" from Autumn 2008 onwards. The magazine is in full colour and contains around 48 glossy pages of articles, behind-the-scenes secrets, members letters and dozens of photographs.
Each Six of One mailing, sent to members three times a year, contains a number of items in addition to the magazine itself. This can vary from newsletters to merchandise offers, from book reviews to convention news. Each mailing is different, each one is 100% "The Prisoner" and none of it is available elsewhere.
Other "occasional" publications which appear from time to time, such as the Patrick McGoohan tribute pictured left, are also included in the subscription.
Only members of Six Of One can receive this plethora of exclusive material and every fan of Patrick McGoohan's visionary television series is invited to join SIX OF ONE, the ONLY official appreciation society for The Prisoner and which is recognised as such by the owners of The Prisoner copyright, and by Portmeirion Ltd the owners of Portmeirion hotel and village which was the setting for the series.

by Roger Langley
|

Often combining the key roles of Actor, Writer, Director and Producer, Patrick McGoohan is a complex Renaissance artist with an impressive body of work. His achievements and failures reveal a driven, highly moral, highly creative star, who steadfastly abhors the glare of publicity. Despite his reluctance to embrace the media frenzy which surrounds ‘show business’, McGoohan’s enigmatic screen persona and his fearless dedication to the performing arts continue to conquer and fascinate new audiences all over the world. He has been described as “The British Orson Welles” by folksinger and fan, Donovan. McGoohan and his work still have fan clubs all over the world. This book will tell you why!
Several newspaper articles and radio interviews have been appeared following considerable interest in the book by the media. A selection appears below, just click the links to access.
